NWKA Supercup at MAC Track

This past weekend at the NWKA Padholder Supercup Races 3 and 4 at MAC Track in McMinnville, OR brought both sunshine and showers, testing the mettle of every racer on the track. Competing in both the Jr II 206 and Tag Jr classes, Asad demonstrated his formidable racing prowess and his particular joy for wet track conditions.

Saturday - Clear Skies and Challenging Turns:
The race weekend kicked off with perfect racing weather—dry and sunny. Asad qualified in sixth position for both of his classes. The Jr II 206 pre-final saw him making an excellent start, swiftly moving up the pack. However, an overly enthusiastic entry into turn 3 caused a slide, relegating him to the thirteenth spot. Undeterred, Asad battled back to P6 by the finals, mirroring his steady performance in the Tag Jr finals as well.

Sunday - A Racer’s Delight in the Rain:
The forecast for Sunday promised rain—a condition Asad relishes. The intermittent downpours transformed the track repeatedly from puddle-strewn to dry, challenging drivers and their teams to make quick decisions on tires and setups. Starting again from P6 in the Jr II 206, Asad showcased his adaptability and strategic prowess, capturing a well-earned P5 finish. In the Tag Jr, he consistently held onto P7, while the frequent adjustments and dynamic race conditions tested his skills, with pre-final starting in dry and finishing under pouring rain.

Throughout the weekend, Asad's enthusiasm for racing in the rain and his skill in handling the fluctuating conditions shone brightly. Special thanks to our sponsors, Proformance Racing School and 425 Motorsports, for their continued support. A shoutout to Doug Fleming for providing a top-notch LO206 engine, and heartfelt gratitude to the Italian Motors USA team for exceptional pit support and coaching.

We are excited and looking forward to the next race in the series, which will be held on June 14-16 at the Southern Oregon Karters Association track in Medford, OR. We can't wait to see Asad back on the track, pushing the limits and applying his learnings!
