NWKA Supercup @ SOKA

The NWKA Padholder Supercup regional series made its third stop of the season at the technical Affinity Raceway in Oregon for Races #5 and #6 on June 14-16. Asad and the team were looking for breakthrough performances in both the Tag Jr and Jr II 206 classes against stout fields of competition.

After using Friday's practice day to reacquaint himself with the track's smooth turns and tricky "W" and chicane sections, Asad showed strong pace in Saturday's races. He secured a podium finish with P3 in the very competitive Jr II 206 class and a P5 result in Tag Jr.

Sunday began with Asad battling for a Tag Jr podium, making multiple clean passes but ultimately getting forced wide on the final lap to finish P4. While unable to reach the podium, it set the stage for an impressive culmination in Jr II 206 later that day.

Starting the Jr II 206 final from pole position, Asad led the majority of the race despite intense pressure from Colt Schlotthauer and Trevor Clinton. After briefly surrendering the lead, he made a decisive pass on Schlotthauer to recapture P1, showcasing impressive racecraft on his way to his first Supercup win of 2024.

"It felt incredible to finally get that win," said an elated Asad. "The competition has been so tough, but I knew if I kept pushing and stayed consistent I could do it!"

With the exclamation point of his Jr II 206 triumph capping an overall strong weekend, Asad was "encouraged by our speed and racecraft" heading to the next event. The team thanks Luke Ryder for joining the crew and helping keep Asad's karts dialed in all weekend.

Nikadambaev Motorsports extends its gratitude to our sponsors ProFormance Racing School and 425 Motorsports, as well as Italian Motors USA for providing great equipment, pit support, and coaching.

Carrying that momentum from his amazing performance at SOKA track, Asad and the Nikadambaev Motorsports team now set their sights on the NWKA Padholder Supercup tour's return to Chilliwack, British Columbia on July 12-14.
